I need some feedback from someone else who is using the Graphire 3. I noticed a strange problem with mine today. I noticed my computer getting sluggish on some processing that normally doesn't make it work too hard. I'm running Windows 2000 and I noticed that my 'system' process (not the system idle process) was hovering at 50% when nothing else was going on. I unloaded the tablet driver and the problem went away. It came right back when I reloaded the driver. This problem occurs with the driver version that shipped with the tablet (v4.76a) and with the updated version (v4.87-6) that I downloaded from the Wacom website. I'm just curious if someone can tell me if they have this issue or have encountered/fixed it already.

Further investigation reveals that my 'system' process hovers at 50% only when the mouse or pen is on the tablet. If I remove either from the tablet, the system goes back to normal. I called Wacom support and they told me it wasn't their problem since the tablet.exe process was not using the cpu cycles.

Is there anyone here using a Wacom Graphire 3 with Windows 2000 or Windows XP who could check to see if they are experiencing a similar issue?
