Did a session today for a friend...here's one I'm hoping they will like.
What do you think?

That's a very touching image. I like it a lot.
The softness on the hand and ring bother me a little... but only a little.
Gret work.

Agree with Juggle.
Great composition...My wife and I are having our third in February (a boy) and I look forward to creating many images to share, both to get feedback and learn, but more importantly to brag... |

Thanks Club...
I used F/1.8 to get a little faster shutter...
made some of the shots a little soft.
Next time I'll go up to around F/3.5 and see how that works.

I like the color much better. The softness seems more natural.
The crop is right on. Nice work! |

Definitely...the colored version is more emphatic and emotional. The most outstanding quality of this picture is the composition. Congratulations!

Great image, and the color works better for sure. Although you might try desaturating it somewhat, it is a bit strong.
I like the dreamy softness a lot. It sets a great mood.

definitely the color...beautiful, emotional shot! i agree with mcmurma about a slight desat, though. the red is a bit bright and pulls the focus from the faces. great shot...your friend will love it!

The second shot is beautiful, but why the square crop? |

Glad you all like it, I prefer the colored version also, will have to desaturate the red...
Square crop because I tried to go 8x10 and it just didn't work for me.
I always try 8x10 but don't like to be constrained to a particualar crop. But I guess if they order a 5x7 I'll have to change it anyway, oh well...
take care,
Jeff
