More bent then I wanna attempt to fix... 2 pins right in the middle, one in each row. |

Bugger. I had a similar issue with my ol' Nikon 995when a CF card got inserted backward. Luckily I was able to bend them straight, and it's been almost 2 years now. they were bent pretty badly too, nearly touching the adjacent pins.

When I was an undergrad in college working on my degree in RTV, I had a professor who always told us the same thing over and over again about the pins in much of our television equipment... "College students are very strong." He told us we could get away with bending them once...but anything beyond that and our college student superhuman strength would cause them to break. Maybe you can try bending them once... just pray a lot and be very gentle! LOL ;o)

What kinda tool do you use to get way up in there? That didn't sound so good did it? |

you can bend them back, but if it's still under warranty i would rather try that (do they provide you with a new one? or just fix the current one? not sure how warranties work, since i never really use them). i've broken pins on my keyboard (not quite as expensive as the digital rebel) by accidentally bending it too many times (and trying to fix it.. but eventually, they just fell off)

I've bought the warranty on several things and never used them. It's like an insurance bet in blackjack. The house calls it a sucker bet. This time I guess I'm gonna cash in though, cause I ain't got the skill or the patience to fix it myself. |
