Is the idea to use the same image and see how it scores with two different patterns? Or are we to have two completely different images for these two challenges?

From Common Editing Rules:

You may not... use the same original image in more than one challenge.

Of course. Just wanted to be sure.

So basically we have two separate Free Studies at the same time?

Pretty much. Yes.

Probably the wrong thread for this post, but it is only me, or are the pictures in this challenge next level? I haven't voted yet, but honestly, who gets the "1"??? So well done everyone.

I would not have run a challenge like this myself, so a not to hurt anyone's feeling. But given that I will vote on a bell curve. A few 1's, a few 10s, then then use all the other numbers for the rest. It will be more like the old days when there were 100 to 200 images and you needed to use more range to differentiate the images. Good luck.

Well, I, for one, promise not to be offended by the 1's, 2's, and 3's :)

I probably cannot give ones. It's just not in my nature. But I'll do my best to at least spread my vote out way more than I usually do.

Maybe if you also don't give any 10's that would even things out LOL

Rightly said. Odd description of the challenge. How could you give 1 to a challenge that I do not even see some images qualified to get 4?

It's so interesting with this voting regime... My score has wild swings with each vote.

Interesting, for sure...

I don't think we'll know a thing until the end. I voted and, in order to do so, had to change many scores more than once as I sorted. So if others do this, you could be seeing swings that just represent the same person "refining" scores

Mine has changed by two full points so far... completely in the downward direction. Ha! But yes, very wild swings.

In my case the swing going wildly down applies to both FS

holy crap that was hard! It hurt giving out 1, 2, 3 & 4s -- I rarely do that. So I had to separate out what would have been my 5s and 6s, and it came down to what held no interest for me. Because the technicals were ok.

I am with you. I am hard pushed to give a 4 normally, so going to 1,2 and 3 really hurt - and sorry to those who got it :-(
