Everyone seems to think I am a drunken animal abuser hence the lowest of votes ever but what you all do not realize is that me and this little dog have such a close and tight bond, I live for her and she for me and we are almost always together ...I take her with me everywhere I go...I absolutely live for this little soul and love her with all my heart. She came into my life as a 8 weeks old puppy almost 15 years ago at a very dark period in my life when I couldn't see the light at the end of the tunnel anymore and it was her coming into my life that saved me. We are inseparable now. I think my title led people to vote so low as they much have thought that here is a drunkard abusing his little dog and not caring for her...you are all so wrong very wrong.....and yes I enjoy a drink once in a while and then I take my little Aimee with me to the local pub and she absolutely loves being there with me. Should have maybe titled it "Having a pint at the local with my best buddy"

hey Fred .. i'm really sorry that your pic didnt go well ..
you cant help what ppl think in this life .. we can only do our best .. and if we are misunderstood then we know that its not on us ..
and you are probably quite wrong about ppl thinking you are abusing your little Aimee .. they just mightnt have connected with your photo ..
i'm sure none of the voters wanted to hurt your feelings and make you feel so down ..

i think pets have saved many lives with their unconditional love for us crazy humans ..
i'm so glad you found Aimee .. and her you ..
i hope tomorrow you feel much better .. my thoughts are with you .. xx ..

I didn't vote on the challenge (I forgot!)

But I wouldn't have voted it high. But not for the reasons you are thinking.

I don't think anyone would think that of you!

If you notice, practically every entry has at least two characters in it. We were looking for the relationships that show the best friends status. By the look in her eyes, she definitely adores you. But I would have wanted to see the relationship to make it a two way street. I would have loved to see a photo of you and her together at the bar! I love going to the bars/restaurants that allow dogs. It is great fun to see the friends together. That's all that was missing -- the two of you!

Thanks Wendy...glad you see it that way and I do understand it better now.đŸ€— Yes I also love the pubs and restaurants that are dog friendly and allow them in.

Honestly, that wasn’t the vibe I got from the image at all, and I don’t think most people would look at it and jump to those kinds of conclusions about you.

If I’m being honest, I just didn’t feel like the image lined up with the challenge theme very strongly. The theme was “best friends,” and since the shot focused only on the dog, I didn’t really get that relationship or connection coming through in the image itself.

And while I still think you’re a fantastic photographer overall, this particular image didn’t carry much artistic or narrative weight for me personally.

That said, my thoughts are strictly about the photo itself and how it worked within the challenge. None of it reflects on you as a person.
