The project: Take a daily photo and post it in an online gallery. If possible, include your commentary about the photo with it. One photo a day. Every day. For one year.
The goal here is to take at least one photo EACH DAY for the entire year. It's not my objective to have any particular level of artistry or other photography savvy in each daily entry. The objective is to be on a routine of looking for photo worthy subjects every day and everywhere I go.
I did this project once quite a few years ago and I was amazed at how well it went and how much fun it was. Join in and make your project whatever you want it to be!
If you create an online gallery with your images to share, respond here with your link and I will add it to this top post here so there's a single spot to find everyone's work.....
Let's have some fun with it!

| That is an ambitious and admirable project. I will have to think about committing to this. A picture every day (that is interesting enough to post publicly) seems like a lot. I would have an easier time committing to seven a week rather than one a day. |

| I can confirm that's it's fun. Hope to start my 18th 365 (sometimes 366) project in a row tomorrow. Never missed a day yet. See https://pad.hajeka.com, but they are also on Flickr |

That seems to be a problem for a lot. Everyone feels like they have to post a prize winner every day and you just dont. You will see that it turns into an interesting photo diary of your year. That's why I like to write some brief commentary to go with each of mine.

Here's my initial photo for the project for this year... I titled the photo "In a Relative Way" and included the following notes with it:
"And you run and you run to catch up with the sun, but it's sinking... Racing around to come up behind you again... Sun is the same, in a relative way, but you're older... Shorter of breath and one day closer to death..."
Some immortal works from Pink Floyd's "Time" from "Dark Side of the Moon."
What better way to open my 2026 "Project 365" Photo-a-Day quest for the year than with some detail of the sun dial in my garden? What's even better than starting out with my Chuzhao toy camera on point!

I love this idea and while I find it overwhelming and unlikely that I'll do the entire year, I'm down to try! As predicted, I completely forgot about this yesterday and took some last minute photos with my phone as I was getting into bed. Which I'm ok with! I think that's part of the fun, situations like that that make you see things differently, prompt you to find opportunities. I took a few shots of my humidifier and I never realized how beautiful it could be haha! And I agree that folks get caught up in thinking that they have shoot a masterpiece every day. I think this could be a great exercise for a lot of people to let go a bit.
It might take me a few days to set up my flickr (I have two old accounts, passwords I've lost, want to merge them into one, etc..) but I am shooting every day and will post once I'm set up and share the link here.
Thanks for the idea! Great way to kick off the new year. :) |

UPDATE:
In view of the limited space I have left on my free Flickr account, I will post at least one image a month there, I have created an album here on DPC with links from Flickr directing them here. I am hoping that it might entice a few newcomers to our wonderful community, we can but hope, fingers crossed... |

| Crap crap crap!! I forgot about this! I don't have anything for Jan 1, and it seems like a show stopper. I took a photo yesterday, just of a bumper sticker that I wanted to read, so I photographed it so I could blow it up so it was legible. But I'm thinking not having something for the 1st makes it silly to proceed. :( |

No problem Wendy, simply finish on January 1st...! You could start this any day you want and finish on the 365th (or 366th) day... There you go, problem solved... |
