thanks guys.
Alice, I have one more that I need to stitch together. It's my fave! The one on Church on the SafeWay building. Love it! Will post it when I get done!

Rooster, I've been puzzling over this one (Church on Safeway bldg). And finally remembered the spectacular mural on the BACK wall of the Safeway facing the Muni tracks. Oh, yes. If you have that one, you either know the City as well as I do, or know someone who does! I'll look forward to seeing your photos of it.
That's worth looking forward to. |

Hey Guys!
Yes, Alice, I know the city pretty well. At least S.F that is. Stitching it together is a long process tho & I want it to be perfect bc it's my fave & what inspired me to go shoot murals.
Promise to hit you up when I post it!
Thanks for the comment Parrothead. I too would love to paint on that big of a canvas!

A few years ago, I did have a chance to work on the team of Marta Ayala when she did a mural at a grade school in Half Moon Bay. Starting with the preparation of the wall, the charcoal drawings, design and final anti-graffiti finish. She would let us draw, where she wanted them, flowers, a village, trees, etc. and paint them. Then she would come along and make it all 'hers' with a few deft strokes. It was an experience I shall always cherish. |
