In the recent challenge one of the admins shared their insider knowledge obtained during image validation on the publicly accessible Web page. I believe this should only be allowed with the explicit agreement from the image owner.

My request to all admins is to respect this rule.

Hi Margaret.
I've checked the Top 5 images for the current 3 challenges on the front page: Bold, Priceless, Album Cover - and I'm not seeing any comments by SC or Admin mentioning edits.
I've checked all of the recent challenge outtake threads, and again, no comments.

You mention "In the recent challenge" - is what you're discussing from a challenge older than what's on the current front page?

For the record, we've discussed a couple of times how we'd wish the photographer would post their edits on something we've seen, basically for educational purposes, but even then, we haven't or have asked the photographer directly if they'd be interested in doing so.

Please send me a PM with your observation so we can address it. Thanks.

I really like to know what disqualified the image. I learn something sometimes about the rules that I wouldn't know if they hadn't published it. They didn't do it long ago and I think it was when Bear got onboard that they started telling us. I like it... even if it's my image that was disqualified.

May we know what you don't like about the policy? Was it not on the DPC site? I could see that as being a problem, if it were discussed elsewhere.

Ok. Appears it was a false alarm. :-)

I'll go ahead and leave this in place for now since Lydia has posted a follow-up.

No problem for me if you delete it.

You do you. :D

It is extremely helpful to know why things were DQd. I wish it would be the policy that the information IS shared. I'm not sure what the problem would be. I'm assuming that everyone is doing their best to follow the rules, and that the rules are sometimes confusing. It's not like we are calling them out for doing something terrible. It's just information to help everyone going forward. Especially with addition of all the AI tools available, it's going to be a challenge for the SC and the users to know where the line is.

It seems like it's a benefit for all.

To clarify, there was no DQ, just a comment that could be interpreted as insider knowledge. I just hope it does not happen to any of my images.

No worries. Won't be spilling the beans on any of your secret recipes. :-)

You will have nothing to spill, Barry, I don't like beans.
