I've been away from DPC for a while. I'm surprised by how low the current participation is in the challenges. Perhaps it was already discussed during my hiatus, but what are the collective thoughts on how to get DPC participation back up? I would love to see challenges get over 100 entries again.

Welcome back!

There are innumerable discussions on this, mostly having to do with phones, social media, and "likes" vs criticism.

As for "what to do" check out this thread.

I've been meaning to get back into it. Where did you guys put my camera?

I found mine a few months ago in the back closet - untouched since 2018. Cameras and lenses still fully functional. The cameras reverted to the factory dates as the real-time clock does not work without an occasional charged battery. My buddy wants me to buy new gear, but it took great photos back then and still does.

The camera probably also has a "coin" battery somewhere to maintain the settings -- other wise they'd revert whenever you changed batteries. Glad to hear you're planning to use your gear until it doesn't work ... :-)

I wonder if digital cameras didn't reach their peak several years ago.
