Ok, so that's two people who'd be up for a Letchworth outing... Anyone else?

Maybe a little far to go.

Just wanted to chime in here and say that I am all for a get together/outing. I am in Cameron (9 miles south of Bath- Steuben County Seat). Letchworth State Park and Montezuma Refuge have been on my list of places to visit for a while. I think Montezuma would be better in the spring/summer, though. Keuka Lake state Park is beautiful spring through fall. My aunt tells me there is also a refuge off of Rt 15 south just over the PA border that was great. I'm fairly open on the travelling part.

Just a bit of info from mid Long Island to Albany
Est. Distance: 192.73 miles
Total Est. Time: 3 hours, 18 minutes

I did this just out of curiosity since I probably wouldn't be able to do any get togethers any time soon, but there are many around here & NYC that might be interested. The mileage is as good as some of the other upstaters.

*heavy sigh* (me wishing I could make it back for a photo tour)

If it's in the spring, I will check my schedule.
But I'm 6 hours from the western tip of the state.

Letchworth isn't a horrible idea! We spent a camping trip this summer there, so we know it pretty well. 3 nice waterfalls, some good hiking trails and lots of nature and animals. Could easily find some deer/chipmunks/squirrels/skunk/coons. :)

I'd be up for that. Are we looking for spring then? Or maybe mid-winter at Letch? :)

For me, trips of any distance will need to be in 2005.
Spring is nice. Mid-winter, perhaps, gotta check the snow-shoe budget. ;)

I'd be into a Letchworth trip any time of year. I'm hoping to get some snowshoes this winter to make it easier, but I'm good any time. In fact, I'd like to capture multiple seasons there.

Shall we shoot (no pun intended) for a mid winter expedition?

I go to school upstate (Rochester). Does that count?

Anyone still thinking about doing the upstate thing?

yes I actually just posted about this same thing yesterday but not one soul replied.

Just saw the link. I'm from the Binghamton area (Johnson City). Been a long cold winter.

I'm game. Given the last three replies, if we triangulate, we'd end up in Ithaca--a mighty fine town with natural attractions and a zillion places to eat.

Other suggestions for places? And when?

I bumped Matt's thread. Might be good to start on a clean slate.

I'll add your comments to that thread for you.
