Can you believe we̢۪ve never had a Jetty challenge!
I mean they̢۪re in a lot of photos on DPC, but a challenge purely of just jetty̢۪s would be cool.
No drone shots though hehe.

So, the idea would be to make a challenge just for folks who live conveniently close to large bodies of water that actually HAVE jetties, then eliminate those of us who *inconveniently* have drones to make spectacular aerial shots of them, and see who can beat you in dueling-backlit-sunset-silhouette-jetty shots? :-) |

Archival, perhaps? |

YES, the real jetties are on the sea, I am far away from any sea :) |

Too limited IMO. I'd vote no. Sorry. |

A more generic "Shorelines" could range from small creeks or ponds to oceans -- any place where land meets water. |

Or maybe jetties and piers? |

Nice thought, but still very limiting. |

Potential with this one (one person's opinion of course). |

"Shorelines With Structures" might be nice for a change, requiring evidence of human impact upon the shoreline. |

That wipes out the small creeks or ponds suggestion by the General. If you have structures by water already you probably have the other ones too. |

That may be true, but the *spirit* of the original suggestion is "something built into the water", basically. Just "Shorelines" brings us a parade of bucolic shots. "with structure" adds houses, canal locks, bridges, water mills, docks and piers, amusement parks, you name it. And pretty much anywhere you have creeks and streams you have bridges and dams of some sort somewhere. Of course, not everyone would be happy, but "Shorelines" in and of itself is surely just another way of saying "Seascape"?
A possible description:
"Jetties, piers, docks, wharves, bridges, dams, and water mills (to name a few examples) are all examples of land-anchored, human interaction with the shore. Show us an example."
We've never done a challenge quite like this as far as I can remember :-)

I like this idea, I think we should do it. Good luck.
Next up - "Moutain Vista - Show us your best view of the mountain range in your area." |

Man I go to bed and look at all the ruckus that has happened in the meantime. I was just stirring the pot when I said no drones allowed :)
