This idea was inspired by this thread: Young Submitters
I have a nephew to whom I gave a digital camera for his 9th birthday. For quite some time he's been fascinated by what I show him of images displayed here on DPC. In fact, when I let him use my Canon G2 on a recent trip to Fort Niagara, he took photos like a pro...
I was thinking of having him sign up here on DPC, but I've seen how harsh some commenters can be on "beginner" submissions. Why not set up a "Junior DPC" area where young photogs can compete with their peers, without the risk of being mistaken for a "dumb adult" ;-). It would be a place where they can learn and get encouragement from the feedback of us seasoned vets....

Just for reference, there is discussion about having a single children's challenge here. |

Thanks for the reference, MK. While a single kids challenge would be nice, I'd like to see an area set aside for children only (...say 12 and under) who would have regular (weekly?) challenges among themselves.
