I wonder what photographers do on the other side?

Thank you Melethia for the handsome picture. (Taken where?)

As others have noted, Robert has passed. Here's the post on FB:

It is with great sadness that I share Robert passed away at home, in his sleep, after a year-long battle with cancer. His much beloved puppy, Dolce, was by his side. Robert was a graduate of Lansdowne-Aldan High School and Drexel University and maintained many of the relationships he forged during those years throughout his life. He had a lifelong love of theater, music, and photography and, I would venture to say, most of his friends shared at least one of those passions with him. His other great love came later in life when he offered to take care of the pet of a dear friend who was ill. When that friend passed away, Robert discovered the true joy of pet ownership as was exampled by the many posts of his precious âpupsâ. A memorial service will be announced at a later date at St Maryâs Episcopal Church. If you are so inclined, a donation may be made in Robertâs memory to the following:

Very sad. I always felt an affinity for his geometric shots.

I caught the recent post about his decline on his FB page, but it confused me because it talked about "Robert," so I thought he was talking about a friend of his. Now I understand.

Melethis, thanks for sharing that GTG photo. Fond memories.

He leaves us with a fine body of work. 1336 entries over just shy of 18 years. The 18th anniversary of his first entry will be tomorrow.

When I went to visit his profile today, the first think that caught my eye was his status: "User is currently offline." I found this status (in combination with the presence of his portfolio) to be a comforting metaphor. I hope that when I eventually go offline that my digital legacy might be a fraction of the what he's left us (in quantity, diversity, and quality). Godspeed, Robert.
