The only advice I can give is to take a picture you're happy with and that meets the challenge in your eyes, and don't let yourself get depressed about the voters not agreeing. Easier said than done though...I haven't managed it yet myself.

ehm, you were so right about this! I tried to make a portrait of a hero and all I'm getting is "I don't know what this means.."

Must be people who can only recognize a hero by his uniform or because he has his hands in the air :D some people's world is so very narrow, it scares me a bit....
