Since Tuesday will be another historic vote in the USA, what if the DPC admins provided a poll of 10 suggested challenges and allowed the members to vote for a favorite. Of course, to keep everyone honest, the poll results could not be revealed until the voting was over; the challenge begins after 7 days of voting. And there will be NO hanging chads on the vote count.

Just a thought..............thanks

Come on............
81 views and only 1 comment. Maybe I should put this thread in the rant forum. There's always a member with an opinion over there.........

Many have said in the past that they are disatisfied with the way challenges are chosen. This might be worth a try. But people would have to keep mum about how they voted, no campaigning in the forums etc.

... but we don't have the Supreme Court to make the final decision. ;oP

I've seen this on similar type websites with challenges. It might be a neat new feature of DPC. We get a list of 10 proposed challenge ideas, we vote on them, and then the winning idea becomes the next challenge.

I like it!

OK, so far so good. Now lets think a little bit. Create a list of YOUR top 10 challenges (with any specific special criteria). This list can be a favorite past challenge, a modification of one, or a brand new one. We'll put the idea in front of the Site Council if this idea gains momentum.

I will list mine first.......in no specific order

Macro - somethihng alive, not inanimate
NO post editing (WYSIWYG)
Roads
Patterns in nature
Weather
eBay
Carpe diem (live for the day)
Smiles - smiles from the image or on the subject in your image
Nude - following the DPC rules
4 elements (air, water, earth, fire)

this should get things started (I hope). I've enjoyed synapsing for a while on it. Good luck.

How about:
No Macros - any shots but a Macro
The letter E - why not?
Paradise - take a picture that represents paradise for you
Wood
Pets- We've had a cliche challenge but why not one on just pets?
Hate - We've had love, why not hate?
Relaxation
Stress
Invention
Innovation

Ummm, the poll says "Today is Election Day in the United States. Let's get out the DPC vote to choose next week's Open Challenge! Choose your favorite topic. The one with the most votes will be the theme for the week of October 10-16. In case of a tie, we'll blame Florida!"

Shouldn't that read November?

Can we tell others what we voted on?

But we can't see the current results of the poll. What kind of punishment is this? ;)

You might want to change the date that appears in the poll. I am sure it should read November. :)

That could influence the result probably.
