I'm thinking sometime in December it would be cool to have a challenge where everyone can re-enter one of theyr photo's they entered all year. Special rules, the date can be any time in 2004 and the image must be entered before in a challenge. I also think it would be cool to be a 24 hour speedy one because everyone has theyr photos already taken and a week for submission would be a waste of time. Could be called "photo of the year" or "a second chance".

I think it would just turn into a hero worshop, popularity contest type of thing. We have too much of that already. Anonymity is really an esential part of the dpc concept. However I think it would be cool to have a listing of the top 100 for the year based on the votes they already got in challenges. |

PS also a rule should be "no re-editing" the photo must be exactly similar to the one entered before.

I don't want to see the same photos in another challenge. I want different ones.
But I like the idea, sort of. How about a 12 month OPEN challenge. Submit the best photo you took all year. It should not be one you've already entered, but I'm flexible on that last rule. |

I agree too that some will act that way, but not everyone also I doubt anyone knows all photo's here and who they made it, and verry few have actual time to search and lookup who made each photo...

I think it would be really interesting to see them re-envisioned. Might show how people have grown, changed or generally improved over the year.
The negative is the score, the print is the performance and all that.
I know I treat RAW files from a year ago quite differently from how I originally saw the final version. It can be an enlightening exercise to see how your view might have changed. For example, I'm less heavy handed with the saturation than I used to be.

That would be also cool, maybe even better than my ideea, because than it won't be a popuplarity contest.

I agree. People are going to enter their best shot and many are likely to be recognized immediately.
I like the idea of revisiting a shot that scored poorly and trying to reshoot it with an eye towards the feedback received in the comments.

I like the idea. However, I would like to see the best "non-challenge" shot entered. A shot that has not been viewed previously on dpc. |

year loong free study has it's merits, but it might be nice to re-edit based on the comments one got from a previous entry - no ribboners need re-enter. maybe do it in january for 2004... |
