Hear is my shot this week.
Cute as a Bugs Ear
And here are the outtakes.
My favorite of the bunch is the 3rd one. Which one do you like the best?
Lila Mae taking a flower from me
She is eating cereal here
This looks peaceful but really she is tearing a flower to shreds
Sober look
She is talking baby talk here. Telling me she is done taking pictures.
Thanks for viewing them. It was very hard taking picture of her. She wouldnt stay in one spot for me. I had my 12 year old hold a small black cloth behind her and he was running all over the livingroom trying to stay with her. It was a funny sight. How do these professionals do it?

I can't say I've taken pics of children myself, but I saw a TV programme with a pro suggesting using sticky tape to keep the child interested and still. Just stick it between their hands and watch them play with it.
Lovely photos too..

Sonja, they are all beautiful. I especially like the first one where she's taking the flower from you, love how the flowers are blurred, her hands just a tad blurred and then her face is spot-on in focus. I find the border pretty distracting though. The one you entered for the challenge would be my other favorite.

Great shots. She is very photogenic. I also like the one where she is taking the flower from you. Similar thoughts on the border, but it still works. I did find that the one you submitted, as are some of the others, was taken from a little close.
BTW, congratulations on breaking the top 10 with a KID picture. Not an easy feat on this site.

Thanks. Do you think I should just make the border smaller? And ya I think I was probable to close too. It was hard. I don't believe I will try it again until she get older and can sit for more then a fraction of a second. hehe
I will stick with the snapshots.

I think you picked the right shade of green, but i personally would just use that as a very small part of the border and have the large part of the border be a neutral color.

I agree that the one where she is taking the flower from you is the best shot. By far. I also dislike the border. I dont like colored borders in general. All the pictures were excellent. I generally rate kid photos pretty low, but contrary to popular belief, I love kids. I just get insulted by people who take really ugly pictures of their kids and submit them to contests and think people will rate them high just because they're kids. I also find it strange that people with digital cameras who arent wasting money on film wouldnt take the time to at least get a decent picture of their child that they love and adore. I think maybe a lot of parents have a problem saying "thats a bad picture of my kid, they look horrible" because their child is always beautiful to them no matter what and that's how it should be, except when trying to get a good picture. Many of my comments from the last challenge were taken in the wrong way and I would like to take this opportunity to say that I loved your pictures and they show the love and care that should be put into taking pictures of your child. She's beautiful and so are your photos. I hope people learn a lot from them! |

Jason, Thank you and I feel the same way you do.
franziska, Thanks for the advice. I am have trouble with changing the thinner part of the border or I would have done that. I think my program limits that ability to do things like that. I am going to redo the picture and see how it turns out. Again thanks.

NOOOOooooooo. Don't decide not to try more professional type shots until she's older. This is your one chance! They grow up so SO fast so you better be coming up with ideas and shooting all that you can now. Try pictures when she's asleep :) I'm coming up with baby shot ideas all the time, but my niece is already so big now. I LOVED your entry btw. |
