I just switched from photo pro 9 to photoshop 7.0 and I have most of it figured out I think but I can't figure out how to change things to sepia tones? can someone help me please, or give me a url for a filter that does it for me? |

To start, image, mode, grayscale, then image, mode, duotone. There are plugins and actions that give you different looks. You can Google them.

There's probably a few ways to do it, but one way is to create a duotone. There's a tutorial for this under Learn -> Tutorials -> How to Create Duo/Tri/Quadtone Images. I just popped into Photoshop and Pantone 118 looks like a nice sepia tone to use. Have fun playing! :-)
Oops! Goodtempo beat me to it. :-)

i think there's an action for sepia, but you can also convert to greyscale and then do a duotone. I have Photoshop CS, but I think 7.0 had it too-- in the Action palette, in the Default Actions, there's a Sepia toning action. (To display your actions palette, go to Window > Actions.

The best way (IMO of course!) is the Colour Balance tool in PS. Choose midtones, then subtly increase red and yellow. Voila! To fine tune it, experiment with subtle uses of other colours in the highlights and shadows. Alternatively, use the Hue/Saturation tool, tick Colourise, and find a red/yellow tint with low saturation.
This is after converting to greyscale, of course! |

If you want to avoid the grayscale conversion (maybe you do your B&W via channel mixer layer), then the Butzi curves are a great addition.
