It's rained for several days and I've been extremely busy anyway, so no real time or weather for great or inspiring photographs. Today during a lull in the daily grind and the rain, I went in the yard and snapped a couple of shots of my pretty yellow roses. They always make me smile, even when I've had a bad day. Hope you enjoy them! :o)

There are a few more here if you are interested in the least.

ALSO...while I was outside I noticed these little tiny daisy-like weeds in my grass, about an inch or two high. I put the camera on the ground and got this picture and as odd as it is, there's something about it I just love. I didn't fiddle much in PS or anything, just auto contrast, resized and USM. I was really impressed with the colors. What do you guys think?

Guess that rules out sending you a bouquet of them to cheer you up huh?

So are they "THE" Yellow Rose of Texas?

Nice shots BTW !

Thanks y'all... I am glad they brought smiles to your faces too!

As far as settings and filters... I used a 1B Skylight filter and they all were taken at f2.8, 80 ISO, and all were between 1/500 and 1/1500. A couple I had boosted to 0.7 ev when the sun went behind the clouds. I'll go back in and put all that in later tonight.

Thanks again! :o)

I'm not a big fan of flower shots in general, BUT I like the first yellow rose one.

Thanks again, y'all...I forgot to add in the settings that these were in the camera's macro setting, which helped tremendously. These newer Kodaks really are good little cameras for the money, if you aren't into the whole DSLR thing and want a decent point and shoot. I'm going to recrop that closeup of the rose's center to get rid of that black corner (thanks SDW65 for noticing it...I didn't even see it until you said something about it!)as well as add the info about the settings and such as soon as I can. Thanks for your help folks! :o)
