Mr. Hokie, I agree with you about DP Challenge as a "Peoples Award" site.

"Hokie" is the nickname for Virginia Tech. I rarely get to use it online as most sites already have a Virginia Tech graduate using the name. So to all future Va Tech users here...nyahh..hyahh..nyaa :-P

1. I would assume that it would work just like voting does now... there would likely be optional 'superlative' vote choices on the voting page. The photo with the most votes for one specific category would get the 'award'??

I was thinking what happens if one photo gets one vote? People mentioned that awards would likely not be given each week.


Let's try something... give me your list of special category awards that *you* would like to see... We will have a little fun with this and see what happens...

I believe I already have, above, a couple of times. ;)

Been thinking.

Commendations fall into three catagories.

I Examples demonstrating specific superior techniques
A. Best lighting control/contrast
B. Best Depth of Field
C. Best Focus
D. Best Composition
1. using 3rds rule
2. not using that rule.

II Examples demonstrating great compositional modes.
A. Poitraite
B. Landscape
C. Stop action/pan
D. Night/ low light
E. one of the alowed special effects
1. sepia
2. negitive
3. grayscale

III Examples demonstrating conceptual strength
A. Most unexpected interpretation
B. Most metaphoric
C. Most litteral
D. Most artistic
E. Most commercial
