I got the following email and was wondering whether it was worth it or not? Any input would be appreciated. Thanks!
We enjoy viewing your photos on 'Digital Photo Contest' web site. We are currently soliciting the work of accomplished photographers, and would like to know if you are interested in marketing your photos.
If you are interested in an opportunity to sell your photography, please visit //www.PhotoCause.com and let us know what you think.
If there are any other sites where we are able to view your work, please let us know. Should we not receive a reply to this email, we will assume there is no interest on your part, and hope you did not find this an intrusion.
If you know of someone who might be interested in this information, please forward along with our sincere appreciation.
Thanks in advance for your kind attention.
Regards,

I didn't read it all but it seems like another new concept in online stock photography brokering. Not much about it is set up to favor the photographer. They are apparently brand new as there are no "Archived Assignments" as yet. $45 is a pretty hefty fee to start with. The assignments are posted publically so I would presume a member competes with all other members to see whose images are selected for sale/purchase. A very low cost way to get a lot of people to shoot what you want and then select, or not, what best fits; and purchase it at a price not set by the photographer. Widespread use of digital cameras and the internet has upset the supply/demand balance in the stock (and/or assignment) photography market. |

I keep reading stuff over and over and I see no benefits of membership as stated. Compensation? They don't mention any. They sell your photos? How? They just the middle man and hook you up and then you negotiate? Doesn't say. Sounds like they get your membership fee and then you do the work, maybe? I would need much more info.

I'm with dacrazyn on this.. Seems very unclear. Sounds to me like they're trying to be fuzzy on the details to get you to hand over $45. I'd stay away - there are plenty of other stock sites to sell your work.
