My current submission for "Parts" has just gone two days without receiving a single comment.
That`s a first for me in the 11 months I`ve been on the site.
On the other hand,my "Masters" submission has 50 comments..which is also a first..(at this stage of the voting.)
Undoubtedly, down to a combination of the blandness of my "parts" submission and a bit of fatigue after the effort everyone has put in to voting and commenting on the "masters" challenge.
However,it does tend to illustrate that less images in a challenge will encourage better participation from the voters.

Voting / commenting fatigue is a huge issue in a challenge with 445 photos. Don't expect much.

I tend to agree Gordon, I have just finished voting on the master challenge and may do a few more comments.
The parts challenge looks quite a task, I haven't entered and would normally give it a miss on the voting, but I might just give it a go,
Cannot guarantee a comment but you never know :)
Paul.

Having scored on 'some' of the challenges during my time here (100% of the photos (except my own, of course)in each case I can appreciate the time it takes. Also, having left comments on some photos (I'm not technically adept, but have tried to leave honest opinions 'from the heart', whether it be on a photo I scored low or one I scored high) I can truely say that I appreciate each and every comment ever made on any image I've submitted for a challenge - even of the 'one word' kind.
My thanks to you all.
It's lovely to see the way the majority of people are towards one another in some of the 'threads' too. Having 'lurked' within some of them I've seen great sense of humour, great caring and some very interesting debates. |

And an excellent contributor into the bargain.
I`ve kept my 602 and hope to use it for future challenges for macro work..just couldn`t bear to part with it.

DPC is the most incredible "community" I have found online. There are some very "real" relationships here I feel, and a great opportunity to share this passion with like-minded (or like-obsessed lol) people.

I say Kylie doesn't suffer from fatigue. Got a comment from her a few minutes ago. Thanks for that Kylie. |

I recall you PMing me about a comment I gave you once on a photo xion. Thanks for that.
Wasn't ignoring your PM, just wasn't sure about replying during voting etc. |

I sometimes do PM people when comments raise some sort of a question and feel that one of the parties need an explanation. No worries. I actually don't even remember :) |

Also, I have only 187 votes. Maybe most of the people are just doing their 20% only. |

I have 196.. 294 views. That's also not a lot of views for a 400+ entry open challenge.. so yah.. I think some people are either a bit scared off by the # of entries, or they're just taking their time. Sunday - Tuesday will be pretty interesting.
