I thought it was wrong since they were half naked. I took a few snapshots but nothing of great interest. I should've walked away.

The girls were half naked in the park eh? Hmmmm... Those girls rights need to be protected. Get me their phone numbers and I'll take care of this for you. :)

Are you sure? I shudder to think of those poor girls running around half naked without my protection. Did I say shudder? Sorry, I meant quiver. :)

My 2 cents...

Since they are friends, I would ask them to specifically say in the cd liner notes that you didn't take the shot with the girls in and that it was done by "our low life manager behind our back". It could save you from legal hassles with the girls and would stick Mr. Low-life's face in it.

I'd also strongly urge you to tell your friends that these girls have rights and that even if they "get away with it" that's it's just plain wrong and that they should have more respect for people. It might be a needed wakeup call to them.

Lastly, I would inform your friends that as much as you enjoy photographing them, that you will refuse to shoot anything for them if Mr Low-life (and I would always refer to him as that) was around.

If they were in public, they can be annoyed all they want. Unless you were peeping in windows or through a peephole, you are free to do pretty much as you please with that image. You can still show the photo, even sell it. As long as you don't use their recognizable likeness to promote a product, you are fine.

Legally yes, ethically... Well, this is the attitude that killed Princess Di

If the girls are recognizable in the photo, it's also illegal for them to use the image as promotional. Other, non-commercial use/ display is perfectly OK.

Isn't the band CD a product?

Yep, but it's not wrong to post the photo here.
