Well, that's hilarious...but if you had to print an email and didn't have a printer attached to the computer (or a camera), can you really think of a more practical way to accomplish the act? |

Stick it on a floppy, email it to another computer etc etc...
you do realise that it wouldn't work on the photocopier ? :) (I really shouldn't have checked it first though...)

Can't, eh? How many side challenges can I take on in a week?
Your solutions involve a significant time delay, change in location, or access to other stuff. What if you're in your mountain cabin and the forest fire is at your door and you have to print and run?
I did recently use the camera option, but it wasn't an email...

You could always scribble it down on a bit of paper ?
This reminds me of the urban myth about the space pen. During the space race back in the 1960's, NASA was faced with a major problem. The astronaut needed a pen that would write in the vacuum of space. NASA went to work. At a cost of $1.5 million they developed the "Astronaut Pen". Some of you may remember. It enjoyed minor success on the commercial market.
The Russians were faced with the same dilemma.
They used a pencil. |

Right, but in writing it down you provide a record of the information, but do not actually document the electronic characters themselves...
I think NASA's major obstacle was the lack of gravity more than the vacuum, but the point's the same (pun intended, as always).
I've been thinking (too much) about it, and with today's lightweight copiers it might be easier to hold the copier up to the monitor... |

Like I said further up the page, it won't work - one is emmissive, the other works by reflective illumination - you'll just get a big blank square....
try watching a TV in sunlight for some similar conditions. |
