Anyone here following it this year? Tomorrow the finish in Huy, they have a wall with photos of some winners in the city

(Just a small part of it)

Are you going to go watch?? I'm terribly envious!! Take a picture or two!

Nice one from last year, Giles. A proper spectacle indeed!

And yes, the only reason I have cable television is to watch the Tour de France. I really should cancel it every August, and renew it every July 1st. Would be a LOT cheaper!

DPL is at a bad time............5 hours of tour watching every day does not leave much time to shoot anything.

That's why we're taping it and watching it later in the day. Skipping over commercials saves a lot of time. :)

I have one of those stupid day jobs, so I watch the condensed evening version, and usually know who's won the day by then. I still watch anyway.

Well, on my end, I get up very early to watch on TV, the finish is usually at about 8:30 AM, I can leave for work at 8:38...

Holy cow, what a crash! Multi-crashes, multi-riders at the same time. Including the yellow jersey. Sad to see.

Please try to refrain from posting stuff about the current days race as not all of us have seen the days stage

Still around 4 hours of watching, I do fast forward thru parts and stop for any interviews or crashes and stuff.

OK. Thanks for the reminder.

Actually it is kind of fun discussing big things, but you don't want to spoil it for people. What about just marking those as "post contains adult content", then we'll know that the hidden ones are spoilers and can choose to look or not look?

FOLLOW-ON SPOILER:

The yellow jersey guy was Spartacus (Fabian Cancellara) who broke his back in a spring classics race earlier this year, too. He just got back into racing not all that long ago. This really sucks. Been a very hard year for Trek Factory Racing, and Spartacus in particular. :-(

Why don't you start a separate thread for the actual spoilers, then post links to them for those who want to see them, while the overall discussion continues here ...

Or vice versa, since this one already has spoilers? Add "SPOILERS" to this one, and start another for Tour de France 2015 - General Discussion - NO SPOILERS or something like that.

OK -- I'll change the title of this one to SPOILER ALERT

DAY 4 SPOILER:

Great ride by Tony Martin today - probably made Cav feel a bit better. :-) Best part of the coverage, though, was the interview with Matteo Trentin ("I hope he doesn't want to keep my bike!"); second best was Tejay's mud unibrow.

I just heard during todays coverage that Matteo's bike has the brakes setup in reverse. That makes what he did even more amazing.........

Here's a fun clip with a NASCAR driver who also rides (and Christian Vandevelde, who's a pretty darn good commentator in my opinion). No spoilers.

Jimmie Johnson rides a bike, too

Note - not sure if this will work outside the US. Hopefully it will!

Squeezing the brake handles makes you go faster? ;-)

Naw, it just means that the rubber grippers were facing the wrong way -- harder to stop, so you go faster. :)

My first 10-speed has brake shoes which slid into the mounts from the end -- if they were installed backwards the shoes would be ripped out of the mounts and you'd go a lot faster with no brakes at all.
