Sorry Melethia et al, but until Langdon finally implements that simple tick-system option that I (and lots of others) have been begging for, for so many years, I just don't feel like putting up with the &&*%^ that too often comes with comments. Too many people ONLY want glowing over-the-top praise, but nothing else.

I know that GeneralE tells me each time that I shouldn't care, and that I should report abusive emails, but I just don't feel like going through all this nonsense. I also know that I am NOT the only person who feels that way, so please stop telling me about the band-aid solution, and help us fix this simple little problem once and for all.

It would be soooo simple to get people to tick if they do - or don't - or don't want comments (good and/or bad).

I do NOT want to put up with the heartache, end of story, ok, GeneralE, so please don't tell me to put on my big girl panties and just comment.

I won't say that, but I'd really appreciate it if you could PM me a couple of examples of the comments you've made and the abusive responses you've gotten, so I can know what you're talking about ... there's no way we can "fix the problem" if we don't know what it is or who is causing it, and I've never gotten such a response myself....

And is it really that much trouble to open a ticket and paste in some text?

And I DO leave "bad" (ie I didn't like this one) comments. I'm sorry to hear that people do still receive negative feedback on their feedback - that's sad.

No, me neither Deb, and although nowhere near your magnificent 40,000 I have left around 6,500.

I've started commenting! So far I've done... uh, three. I'll just keep at it when I find some spare time, and maybe I will manage to comment on all.

Not seeing any love for my creative approach to the topic.

OK, Deb, I've commented the first 10 in my voting queue. As you suggested, it was a very interesting exercise.

Good job, peeps!! Keep it up! Must say I'm not very bright, though, as I did not shoot for nor enter this challenge and therefore will not reap the benefits of the exercise.

But I do hope you'll keep it up! The more the merrier! (And I will go back after the challenge to enjoy the commentary on the photos of others.)

Did my first ten shots; comments and scores declared. I guess I have made 7 or 8 more DPC enemies. But it was refreshing to be frank. Or Earnest.

Or ubique even... :)

No comments yet for me (fine), but some nasty negative voters after yesterday's positive progress.

Absolutely no enemy made here. I truly appreciated the candor - lightly salted with a touch of humor.

I wish more folks would offer constructive critique.

Thank you, sir.

Anyone else commenting the first 10 in their voting queue?
05/27/2015 11:59:38 PM · #38
Yep, I am doing it. Made it through four, but fifth will take some thinking. Will rest on it and tackle rest tomorrow.

Should have entered a waterfall - that would at least have been consistent with the score . . .

Why recently the votesscores are dropping significantly in the last hour?

not only the last hour but the last day, just like the filmic challenge. In fact I'm finding this happening more and more lately, mines dropped a lot also.....also scores are so much lower now, it's not unusual to ribbon with a 6.3 - 6.4 now.

and what happened to comments... I have three entries in voting and haven't had one comment all weekend.

Comments during or after have equal weight. I will be commenting on any shot by anyone who has been hoping for more comments.

thanks... though I really think comments during voting are, by their unsolicited nature, truer to the fact.
