Hi - if any of you are feeling creative I would appreciate some ideas.
My site: is OK, works well and serves it's purpose. However I am unhappy with the squirrel area at the top and don't know what (if anything) I can do to it.
Current Page
One idea I had was just kinda gimmicky but I like it: Squirrel Mover0 however not sure if it needs something else.
Also, it will be quite easy to have the pink area cover the whole top part and get rid of the dark box - something else i thought of doing.
Any ideas???

The SquirrelMover is just horrible, and really cheapens your site.
IMO, a bold simple photo would do the trick.
I used to like your site when you first joined us... but you seem to 'redecorate' very frequently.
I don't keep many favourites in IE, but your original site was one of them. |

| I kinda like the page you have...the moving squirrel is a little distracting and annoying to me. But then again I just woke up after being up all night with a sick kiddo, so I might be a bit edgy. I just like the stationary squirrel better. I also like the dark box because it makes the text in it stand out more; not sure it would be as effective if it were all pink. :o) |

Yeah been this way for about 6 months which is a record for me. I am the Tinker man.
As my living comes directly from it, I changed it to be more search engine friendly - was well worth it too with a PR rise from 2 to 4 in 4 months.
Now I am not going to touch it.

I think it would look more professional if you used something a little more creative like this shot you have:
Maybe you can redo the shot with pink being the more prominent color.

I like the moving squirrel. It's bold and interesting.
Like all these things - it depends who you're marketing your website at. The best people to ask feedback from is actual clients. All I, and other viewers, can do is say what we like, and make assumptions about your clients.

Very True.
Do you think it would be better to take up the whole width? Regardless of what goes there?

Personally I like the flash like that. Seems a nice width and size, for me..

I suggest you dump the squirrel. You are offering design and as such the entry does not support this contention. It may scare away business for fear they will get some of that squirrel variation or similar sub-par work. This is the gateway image and it must invite the viewer.
A good idea might be to get hold of a nice fat artist brush and fip into one of your favorite primaries and take a macro. Compose to your liking.
