I ran across this article in the New York Times about a new type of digital art frame. Has anyone seen a prototype of these frames? I wonder if this would be better than a digital frame for displaying digital photography? Thoughts anyone?

This looks very interesting to me, something I've been wishing for--for about 20 years. It's about time!

I agree, I was never happy with the digital frame options, but this is something very different and might be worth investing a bit of $$ to get a quality frame that displays digital photos.

I want this... Only, it needs to be 4k, 1080p just won't cut it.

Basically, it's a cheap monitor connected to a cheap computer (~ $35 for a Raspberry Pi) that plays a slideshow.

I guess with some savvy marketing you can create a business out of it, but it isn't exactly a fantastic piece of technology or anything. I am sure many people would like to have it in a neat little bundle which you can plug and play, but for the most part you could DIY this yourself for a few years now. I can't imagine that there would be a big market for people to pay for content though, when you can access so much on the internet for free.
