How fleeting is fame? They already link to the just announced winners under the term "past winners." Odd for freshly announced awards, but does not diminish the honor. Thanks for posting the link to the official announcement. With a bit of navigation, we get to see Buffer Zone by clicking on a thumbnail. Definitely worth seeing. |

Just my humble opinion, but your shot is much better than the grand prize winner and the other two winners. In fact, several of your non-winning entries were better than the others also.
For those wondering if membership here is worth it - where else can you get the chance to compete against world class photographers, and even (if you ask nicely) get their feedback on your work - even if your overall average score is below 5.0?
And Johanna is not the only one on dpc that fits that description.
Again, just my humble opinion, but the fact that these world class talents aren't so cock sure of their genius is what makes dpc such a wonderful and unique place. Thanks to all of you.
And a HUGE congratulations, Johanna! |

Congratulations again, Johanna. And I just wish we could see all of your entries. Hint, hint . . . And I must say I love looking through the hourly winners - wonderful stuff. |

Go back to original post. You will see that Johanna had asked David to help her with her selections. Pretty cool, that :) |

Congratulations, Johanna. That's quite an accomplishment. The entire process must have been a lot of fun. |

I'm going to upload them all to a portfolio here, so that you can all see the series, as I'm pretty proud of the body of work. The contest allowed each photographer to enter up to 24 images, one representing each hour of the day in a "city at work". They received over 11,000 entries from 79 countries - one of the biggest contests in the world, of its kind. The rules allowed photographers to enter images taken at any time, and not necessarily at the time they represent.
Give me a couple of days, as they're all in high res, and I need to reduce them so they don't eat up my storage, here :) |

I had a blast. And it was exhausting. The funny thing was that a couple of days before the deadline they announced they were extending it another 2 weeks, due to the enormous demand... That really pissed me off. And quite frankly, I totally dismissed the entire thing as bogus.
Go figure. |

Incidentally, for those of you who tweet, the images are also at UPOTY
I have no idea how to use that information, as I don't tweet... |
