I knew going into this challenge that this would be a "love it" or "hate it" kind of picture...not for the technical aspects (which are lacking, trust me - I know the fence is in the way, thanks!)...but for the religious theme. I also knew it would be susceptible to the "does not meet the challenge" purists, as some comments indicate, because some find that prayer is not an action. Well, technically, it is... prayer can be used as a verb as well as a noun. I found it to be quite fitting of the challenge, and my campus principal and athletic director now have prints of this in their offices because to both of them, it shows the best teamwork that our guys can display. Thanks for all your comments and votes. I truly appreciate it! :o)

great shot, laurie. really captures one of the ideals this country was founded on, and sadly, one that is getting harder and harder to find these days. it's images like this that help keep the faith!

It never even entered my head that thes guys were praying, just thought it was a team motivation thing before the game.

I like the image, certainly above the average shot for the challenge.

I liked your shot Laurie, and voted it higher than it's final score. However I didn't see any religion or prayer in it. I think it could just as easily be termed a pep talk by the coach, or motivational, or inspirational. Of course you were there and may have heard what was said, whereas I am just going by the image. Why did you feel an explanation was necessary?

...just didn't want people to think I'm a complete idiot for submitting something that wasn't "action." That's all... ;o)

It never occurred to me that a meeting where the players listen to their coach was not a team action. It never occurred to me that this was at all questionable as far as meeting the challenge. IMHO, the entry carried itself well, no explanation was needed. And we know you are not an idiot.
