I took this SELF PORTRAIT inside a walk-in kaliedoscope exhibit at our local science museum on Friday. I offered to clean the mirrors and they would not let me :)

I also found THIS PHOTO at the same location....

Wacky (in a cool way) self-portrait, John! Funny title!
I saw that other photo before (photosig? or your gallery?).
Strange, too, but great colors.

I''m going to the Winchester Mystery House today! I hope they allow photos.. hmm. Probably do. Hopefully the tour will go slow enough for me to snap photos! I haven''t been there since I was little, so I don''t remember much.

Here''s a link for those that might not know what this is. It''s here in San Jose, you''d think after living here for almost 5 years I would have been there already ;)

(be sure to check out the "amazing facts" part of the website-it''s neato)

Ok i'm replying to my own post hah.

I went!

Here's some pics

I tell ya.. taking photos on tours is a tough job. First there are the little kids that get in your way.. then there are the people that stand smack dab infront of your shot, and you dont want to say anything too loud cause the tour guide is talking, so you make eye contact with the person and kinda wave your camera around .. smile.. and they blink and continue to stand there. GRR!! Then there are the people who don't know how to use their cameras so like, theres a line practically to take a photo of something.. gah this lady stands there.. stares at her camera, starts to take a pic, and then looks at her camera again.. meanwhile the tour is continuing on without you -- BWAGH

anyway ;) These were the best of the bunch. I wanted to take more in the basement but there really wasn't much.

I asked the lady that gave us a the tour, after the tour, if she knew of any ghost encounters. She said they're not really supposed to talk about it but she thinks thats a load of poo cause the business owners will go on tv and say things about how its haunted and then tell their tour guides to hush it. But anyway she said she has only experienced sounds (footsteps, etc) that weren't supposed to be there, and the touch on the shoulders type of things. Another tour guide last summer took people to the basement and someone pointed out a guy working in one of the corners .. the tour guy was like "oh he's just working".. went upstairs after the tour and asked the other guides who the guy was and why was he down there working.. and they're like "uh.. that was a ghost.." Kinda cool! I was hoping to find a little something extra in my photos.. ah well. ;)

So anyway -- this was totally a unique location to take photos at. Sorry if they are crappy, i didn't have time to take each picture with a lot of thought.

Neat, Jen!
My favorite is the flowers thru the window. Looks like it was fun, too.
;-)

That's my fave too, actually right after posting-- i editted that one.. cropped it and fixed it so it wasn't angled wrong. Its a fun picture to play with. I only wish I could have taken more photos. There were some reaaally nice shots I saw -- but the silly tour went too fast!

john, your self-portrait is great.
jen, the flowers are my favorites, too.

just remember all, you don't always have to go far to get a nice shot. i took this one right in my backyard yesterday: unripe. i confess that i did do a little bit of spot-editing (aaargh!) around the edges, but i did crop it to the 640x480 dpc specifications! :)
