I just got this camera and for the little bit I have played with it I really like it, but I was wondering if anyone had found anything that was neat or helpful that the manual doesn't tell you. I don't have any experience with Shutter speed and aperture or anything like that but I am taking a short photography class next month so hopefully I will learn all about that
Thanks abunch

I love my 6490... it's just the neatest thing since sliced bread! I almost always use Aperture priority when shooting to try to control DOF. As far as neat or helpful tips that aren't in the manual, I don't have any. I just fiddle with it and click, click, click...experimentation with all the settings and seeing what each one does (or doesn't do!) is the best way to learn. I read the manual...and after I woke up, I just started taking pictures in all the different modes. I think you will be well-pleased with it once you start understanding more about what each setting means and what they do. I'm still learning every day and it's great fun. By Christmas I'll be upgrading to it's big brother, but will keep the 6490 since it's such a great little camera. That 10x zoom is fabulous. I also have the wide angle lens, which is awesome as well. I highly recommend it! :o)
