well my effort at black and white was not too good in the wildlife challenge, albeit Sandy did like it, I wasn't entirely happy with it, here is the original resized version, I would like to see what others come up with. Should be interesting. |

Nice shot, Neat. I didn't mess with any cropping. I think color is a better choice, as the red beak is a nice dash of contrast in an otherwise colorless photo. Overcooked as always, but here's my very quick shot at it.

It wants to be color. Here's my shot at it, Viveza and CEP4. The crop is to the golden ratio for the location of the eye.

I like this version but maybe do a hint of noise reduction such as Topaz DeNoise 5 (even with Nik software Topaz is still my favorite Noise reduction software). |

I like what you did with the processing. I think you got the most you could out of the original. It got a 6 from me. |

Here's an attempt. I don't feel like I'm done, but I gotta run. I might work on it more when I get home tonight if I have time. I can post steps if anyone is interested, but... I gotta go! :D

Now here is another one that I nearly entered but I didn't like my edit, this one - it's too soft, and when I sharpened it, it looked horrible,
and the original, see what you can come up with now, I'd like to see how Wendy would edit it.

This was a hard one, this is the best I could do.
I blurred the background and sharpened the swan. Then a little color and shadows.
