Are we to assume by your post that you don't want to see any more political threads??

LOL - hey man, I feel ya! They can get a little bothersome sometimes. But you can always select to hide the rant threads (in your prefs).

Or you can chose to ignore them as they appear. See you got 3 choices you can read them, hide them or ignore them.

Just make sure your horizon is level. If your photo leans too far to the left or right, you're bound for trouble.

I have been guilty of this because I feel a need to reply, not necessarily to the comments, but to their stupidity. Therefore I will refrain.

This is, after all, a photography site and we should all work together to help each other. Once the topics of politics and religion enter, they fouled the waters because there is a lot of vehemence and hatred which then gets transfered to those who cross speech swords.

This is not a site to convert anybody because in the ultimate realm which of us can claim that we have the absolute truth. Those most certain are certainly to be the most misguided.

I think what we do is to have public verbal battle which simply creates ill feelings and leaving a bad taste in the mouth of those who seek the art of photography.

The problem is beyond repair because both sides dig deep into their trenches and raise their heads only to hurl the next attack. We all know that two opposing views are separated and so called, because that is their nature. Those in their own camp preach to their own respective choirs. The difference is too great and most of those who participate are not the best informed.

Therefore, I will refrain from any further participation because it does not advance the primary object for which we are here.

here...here... The rest of the world couldn't care less if the US itself fell off the face of the earth. So why would we care who was leading them at the time?

second that, these threads are full of political mambo-jambo, would rather want more photo-nerdic topics...

What a waste of a forum thread. Don't you think this would have been better placed in the forum threads you're referring to? Or maybe you would just like some attention. That would explain the shouting.

whereas channel 5 and any terrestrial channel on an early saturday evening just rocks, right? ;) it's what this country needs, much more ant and dec!

Oh yeah I'm a dedicated fan of Channel 5, lol. Not :P

I do actually think the BBC spoils us with good programmes most of the time. When I went to America the TV was full of adverts every other minute. The presenting is corny and tacky, and it's all just cringe-worthy!

Hmm, it looks like you DID comment on the other thread in your very eloquent manner. Why did you feel the need to post the exact same message in 2 forum threads? Seems a bit unnecessary to me.

I keep telling my wife that our kids are going to have British accents cause she watches BBC so much. :)
