| The disconnect here again comes down to challenge interpretation. By "Best," I think people probably expect something good and/or interesting, whereas when I submitted my photo, I interpreted "Best" to be "random photo hastily chosen, edited and titled." |

I am ever so glad that I turned my scores OFF... that way I can live in my own little dreamworld, believing that my image is doing great and I only have to deal with the reality of things once... at the very end.

By "Best" I thought it should be one of the shots I was most proud of from the past year. So that's what I went with.

No, she's right. She's a pretty terrible photographer. Not Brown territory, but probably no better than 30th percentile or so. Nice personality though. |

Won't even sniff the rarified air of a 30%ile finish with this one. Last year's Best of was a 7% finish. This should be right in that same ballpark. And that one comment? It's from you. :-) |

Well, I'm not done commenting. I'm only about half through (though that's pretty good considering I didn't think I'd even start until tomorrow). I'll get to you!

Yes -- and by someone I admire. I don't care much about the score. I've never figured out, anyway, what it means to have a best picture within some arbitrary timeframe. It's just something I liked that never found its way into a challenge. |
