If we want to stay close but in beds, this might be a shared option. I called and as of today they have availability for that weekend. Just a thought guys although Free always works for me too.

Just thought I would toss out another option but I don't know how far it is from Ken's house.

OK, here is where we are. Marge contacted the photography boat trip on Caddo Lake (Big Lake), Caddo Lake Tours.com, and they only take a maximum of 4 adults. Don't know the price yet, she's still trying to get that information from them. So more on that later which will have the price and time.

cowtownmom) contacted me and they are going to stay at the house. They will also have their daughter with them for Saturday night. I think they are going to get here Friday night.

I need to know who else is coming and if you are staying at the house. Remember this is considered indoor camping. You only need a sleeping bag or air mattress. No hotel charge either (Marge charges for room service though. :-) ) Show up on Friday afternoon/evening if you like and stay through Sunday afternoon/evening.

As people respond I will add everyone to the first post in this thread.

Im in......How far is the closest hotel?? Kat where are ya'll staying? I have yet to locate my sleeping bag Fri I am going out to my shed to see if I can find it. If I can I would like to stay at the house.

The nearest town is Blanchard, LA. The closest hotels may be just off of I-20 on the west side of Shreveport (airport) or in Marshall, TX. I haven't driven to Mooringsport, LA yet, but they may have hotels there and that is on the east end of Caddo Lake and pretty close to the house.

eta: When I say close to the house I mean within about 15-20 miles.

Trying to figure out what kind of foods/snacks to have at the house. Anyone allergic to any foods?

Unfortunately yes,

Corn, but not corn chips or corn oil, Tuna, SOYBEANS, Salmon, limits to Caffeine. I will bring salad dressing that I can have. Let me know if I need to provide anything else.

Not allergic to Dairy but Rena has to limit it. She is also allergic to bananas.

Steve isn't allergic to anything. He's just a pain in the butt and picky about some things.

Adam, if you can't find, I have sleeping bags in the attic (in tubs, so clean) if you need to borrow. :)

Right now we have sleet that is sticking to the roads and they are talking about up to 1/2" of ice accumulation by tomorrow morning.

Do you need blankets, pillows, etc. We can bring them if needed. Have air mattress ready to go. Let us know if we need to bring anything else other than our bright shiny faces.

Don't need any blankets or pillows. We have a Keurig so you might want to bring your special coffee, tea, or chocolate. If you drink something special like Scotch, Mountain Dew, etc you might want to bring some. Going to post the proposed menu for the weekend soon.

For now I am going to post a couple of pics we shot out our living room window this morning.

Here is the menu for the weekend. The BBQ stuff will be lunch on Sunday, otherwise it will be what Marge makes, when she makes it. Snacks will be throughout the weekend.
