Anyone watching this?
My only chance is during sunset, which is right now - behind the clouds :(.

Here's some coverage.

I think I heard the best viewing is/was near the West coast of Africa.

It's interesting in that the destance from the Earth to the Moon changes during the course of the eclipse, so that for part of the time it will be annular and part of the time it will reach totality.

Yes, they call it a hybrid eclipse :).

Apparently weather conditions at the best viewing site are bad. Other sites on the path, including Kenya, will catch at least a few seconds of totality.

Well, here in the Midwestern USA, no chance of a direct view, however, not to be skunked completely:

The above image is from GOES East visible light imagery. The shadow of the moon can be seen appearing at the right, over the Atlantic just after sunrise, and quickly fleeing eastward toward Africa.

That's one gigantic shadow. Here is an animation of its movement.

And here are some more images.

It didn't look like much out of the ordinary here.
By the time the sun rose above the clouds on the horizon, it was "full daytime" bright, and the eclipse was almost over for our part of the planet.
