By the time the sun broke out of the cloud bank on the horizon, the eclipse was almost over, and the sun was at blinding middle of the day brightness.
Camera settings for those interested are;
f16, iso 100, 1/4000 S, @ 50mm with polarizer. All manual settings were used for this, as the sun is such a small spot in the photo that I had to reduce the exposure a lot to get the sun to show up with the moon in front of it like this.
"Live view" using the LCD helped a lot with not having to look at the sun directly in the viewfinder to frame the photos.
