Im a new member, who is also very new to photography. I have just entered my first challenge (Framing) and it looks like I will finish with a score around 4.995 to about 5.00 even. Taking into account my level of experience (which is zero) compared to other members, some of which are well-equipped amateurs/professionals, how good or bad is my score?
How can one interpret their score relative to the rest of the field. After all judging photos is very subjective and i have seen plenty of photos that I thought were just outstanding not even place in the top 10 or 20.

Sounds like a good start. When the final results are in, you'll see on your profile page at what percentile all of your shots finish. That's probably the best way to see how they compare to the rest of the people in that challenge. Then you can track your progress as you enter more challenges. Welcome and good luck!

Check out challenge history under challenges in the menu. It will give you stats such as the average score for past challenges. Also, when the challenge is over you will be told what percentile you placed in and you will be able to study the shots that did better or worse than your own. |
