No, I still have my regular website where I keep a selection of my favorite photos in different genres - scapes, portraits, street, travel, abstracts, etc. It gets updated from time to time, very infrequently, so unless prompted, people do not go there on a regular basis to check "what's new". That is one of the main reasons I decided to start a new site. I called it "Terra Populi", since this will be a place for street and candid photography (I had wanted to call it "Human Earth", but that domain was already taken, so pardon my Latin :)):
//www.terrapopuli.com
My plan is to post there TWO PHOTOS A DAY§, side by side. They will be two photos of ordinary people from different parts of the world, but connected in some way â through composition, mood, theme, story, key attribute. In most cases, the connection will be pretty obvious, but occasionally perhaps you would have to give them a closer look to find it. In this way I want to show that no matter how different and far apart we live, there is always something that holds us together as humans.
For Facebook dwellers, this website has a sister Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/terrapopuli/ which you can also visit and âlikeâ :-), so you'll see its daily offerings in your newsfeed.
Check it out and tell me what you think, all thoughts and comments are really appreciated.
Thanks!
Lev

§ well, this is my best intention, but I am sure there will be unforeseen circumstances that will cause hiccups in the daily cycle, so don't hold me to that⦠:)

Well worth it - Just create a feedly account (there are others but google recently dropped their reader tool) and start looking for sites. The basic premise is that you can get all your blog stuff in one place - all synced between various computers and devices - and depending on how the rss feed is defined - you can avoid going to the sites directly. |
