I was wondering if it was OK to use the spot healing tool to get rid of zits and blemishes is OK when entering the image into the advanced challenges? Is there a limit to the amount you can do? I watched a tutorial on getting that 'perfect' skin look from a photograph that had a model with less than perfect skin (But a beautiful photo nonetheless). Was wondering if this would be a no no....and sorry if this has already been asked. I tried searching spot healing but didn't get the answer. |

I would say this is perfectly legal. I wouldn't consider zits a major aspect of the photo. As long as you don't spot heal the nose out... :) |

The key to anything in the Advanced set is whether or not it changes the overall description of the image (such as removing large objects or key features). As long as the changes you're making are fairly restrained, I don't see any reason why they would be a problem... unless you're doing something like a macro of someone's nose and you're removing all the pores :)

yes its legal. "fairly restrained" is misleading i have done massive amounts of skin cleanup and facial retouching, i even use liquify to make people look thinner and re-sculpt faces and bodies in my entries.
was never validated but it would have been.

I thought the liquify tool was a no no...or is it only if you do something really funky? |

Liquify has been validated, as long as you aren't really messing things up. That is the general rule of thumb with Advanced, in my opinion. |
