Everybody has songs or poetry they love for some emotive reason. The challenge, capture a image that conveys the whole of a song or poem, or what the whole song or poem means to you.
This challenge is âNOTâ about the title, or a line in the song. A photo of a sailboat will not cut it for âCome Sail Awayâ by STYX, Nor will a over photoshoped surgery scene work for âFix Youâ by Coldplay.
To be fair I think it needs to be Expert editing , Textures and maybe elements of other photos will better help complete the vision. (not that I know how to do it ).
If itâs possible I think the title needs to be a clickable link to YouTube or others of that ilk to listen to the song, if not I guess a copy paste link will do.
I think this might lead to some very creative images, and introduce others to music they have yet to hear.

If someone has a better challenge name for this please post it below

In the 1980's was putting together some cassettes and I wanted some artwork to go with the original songs, so I had my friend Louise (who I considered a talented collage artist) do pretty much what you're suggesting here.

IMO our titles also do an adequate job of capturing the essence of the song, though I guess I can PM lyrics to anyone who might be interested.

Collages based on songs.

LOL, Mike you only suggested advanced?
Paul, I like the collages, "The Cage" stands out.
As for "IMO our titles also do an adequate job of capturing the essence of the song." Here I don't agree. There are too many songs, in too many styles, over too many years, and add other countries to the mix. Maybe just song and artist for the title so If someone is unfamiliar with the song it's a easy look up on YouTube.
The important part is it's about the song or the emotion, not about the Title of it..

Personally, I HAVE no "favorite song" since I've never really heard one. Can it be "favorite song (or poem)"? Poems, I got favorites :-)

I was only saying that in the case of our own songs, I thought we'd done a pretty good job of capturing the overall emotion/feel of the song in our titles. Of course, I'm the only one here familiar with those songs so it's hard for anyone else to make a judgement, and mine is obviously biased ... :-)

LOL Robert I actually thought on your situation. Back when I lived in Connecticut, I was associated with a ASL teacher (yes I did learn). They had a group that every couple weeks put on a play or signed songs (the music was strange for the hearing as it was designed for feeling rather than hearing). I guess I mistakenly thought you might have attended some of these.

On that note lets add poetry to title please

This would be a Killer Expert Editing challenge. Let's hope to see either this or Fine Arts at Rollover.
