I wish. It would give me more time for video games...

Hey, what can I say, I like games. Consoles, computer games, board games, card games... yet I view myself as a functioning member of society. I'd like to stress that gaming isn't reserved for teenagers and shut-ins living in their parents' basement anymore.

some would argue that games are an emerging form of art. Not sure where i stand on that yet, but i do enjoy the occasional puzzle/guitargame/ rts

thinking the same.

i really like expert editing, but c'mon. people complain that the images are too fantastical and not photography, too much digital art and yet we are provided expert challenges that encourage these types of images.

im sure the regulars are going to come up with some cool concepts, but all this type of challenge will do is further divide the "cans" and the "think they can-nots" and cause more resentment to expert editing.

i don't see the need to worry about peoples opinions on expert. The editing format doesn't need pr for its sake same as basic or minimal don't. There will always be styles and methods people prefer to others.

no, but when they dont choose the minimal, advanced and basic rule sets based on the topic, why do it for expert?

i don't know what to say there - i kinda wish editing rules-set were chosen specific to topic - even if the intentions for a challenge were to well... make it more challenging.

edit: in this case, i can envision ideas for both minimal and expert 0.o

that's my point, they arent, except for expert editing. you have topics and rule sets set to make things challenging and then you get an expert ruleset with a topic conduce complete freedom for fantasy and we get people stepping over each other trying to outdo each other in fantasy, it breeds resentment to the ruleset because it mocks photography.

maybe i'd like to see expert given out with a bland topic for once, just to see what people would do with it.

Time to take a break...

... A long one

My rooms are small and crammed, no entry, the skies were clouded, no entry, no idea about thrones, so no ice no fire for me, lucky 7 IV, i promised to entry lucky 7 VII so luck is with me, and no idea for video games and yes I am a fox who thinks the grapes are sour but ...

I understand that this is borderline not "photography" but I sure as hell can't wait to see the creativeness people have with this. And yeah, my thinking cap is on for me entering this one as I consider myself a gaming nerd! Lol.

I will most likely enter this challenge if everything falls into place nicely. :)

ditto...only thing remaining these days is the Free study....and paying $25 to be able to enter 12 challenges per year is a bit costly.

Sounds good.

Stoked for this challenge... Looking forward to shooting and editing. As far as digital art goes, those that complain about it must be a small but loud minority. I say this because the fantastical images always score high, so it appears that the voters don't have a problem with it... I for one don't care either way. I'm looking forward to having fun with this one.

yet another topic that would have benefited from a special rule that allowed text, you know maybe for life bars and general info that would appear on a video game screen.

what's the point of the expert editing rule-set if we are still limited in what we can do to create the image.

The color grey. Expert editing.
Take a picture where the image is predominately grey (physical or metaphorical i guess).

Buy a 'rename' voucher from the vendors.
Flag yourself for player-versus-player, camp Gyaban and then shoot him from behind when he spawns.
Cash in your voucher to rename your account to Gyaban, in doing so you will inherit his account's comments, favorites, votes and images. He will go back to "player x" status and have to work his way back up.
