Same thing I thought. I assume he wired it into an external battery.
Seems he may have put a "This side up" sticker on it too.

I worked for UPS for awhile back in my college days....mostly they keep things with the address label up, because the label gets read again and again along the way. The only time a "this side up" label was useful was if it was something where we might have laid it on its side otherwise, usually something tall and skinny. |

When I read the test specification for how how suggested packages be tested, I pictured their distribution system as a series of gorilla extras from a luggage commercial flinging boxes about.
