I am pretty happy with my 17th place but am wondering if I would have done better without my hat on because I got several comments about it. I always wear one because I am self conscious about my hairline. Thanks again to everyone that took the time to leave comments on my picture. Many of them will help me in the future.

Here is an out take pic. Comments appreciated.

I loved this shot and would have definately marked it up if the hat was off! 8

*shrugs*

I didn't vote, but I honestly don't think it would have bothered me.

Heh, the cloud in the second one makes it look like you have a halo. ^_^

I voted this a 7 the hat had no impact on me at all, I would have voted higher but felt better impact would have been made in colour but on reflection it would also be a fantastic selective desaturation.

i just gotta say this:

Darling.. you're showing people your naked bum and you're worried about your hairline?! Nobody was looking at your hair. :)

Mine neither, I didnt even know there was a hat! *wolf whistle*

I like the outtake too, but I think the submitted image is better in part for being slightly different. It's a very Bassie image.

I was one of those who made a comment about the hat. My comment was more out of curiosity than anything. I thought that with the shot being "natural", the hat raised a question. It wouldn't have changed my vote though - I gave it an 8

I like the hat, I wouldn't change a thing about that shot... (I, too, never noticed the hat, I was studying the body and the form.) ;) It was magnificent! :) The shot, of course.

Hat, schmat...it's your tushie that we are all ogling! LOL

I thought the first one would have been better without the hat...I think I commented to that effect during voting. As far as the outtake, it's great as well... and I'd still lose the hat. Don't worry about the receding hairline. My dad did for years, wore hats, did the combover, all that crud... then finally one day just gave up and let nature take it's course without a fight. He kept reciting a little saying to my mom that has kind of stayed with me over the years... "Just 'cause there's chrome on the dome doesn't mean there's not a fire in the furnace!" hehehe ;o)

uh...yes...you should be ashamed...because NO ONE should ever stoop to such shenanigans for a peek at a cute tushie... especially grown women...who keep bumping the thread up so they have an excuse to look... LOL ;o)

I didn't vote as high as I would have w/o the hat. Was a distraction more than anything else.

Sure. I have seen some of your pictures and I am sure with your talent, you would make me look good. (even without a hat) hehe :)

Bassie,
I am one who would have voted it a bit higher if you didn't have the hat on, it just seemed out of place. Although I had a feeling why you had on, how can you pose naked but be embarrased about your hairline;)?
But, why didn't you mark my comment as usefull when I asked why you had a hat on? It seems usefull to me if you started a thread about it. Also you state in you portfolio that any comments are appreciated, doesn't seem that way to me.

I liked the image a lot. I can't tell if I'd have liked it better without the hat unless you show me that version.

So a reshoot is in order!

Again, read teh neat image thread happening somewhere on this site.
It's a great image, I really like the humor and the light, but don't like all the editing...do you have a less-processed image?

Personally, I dont feel it's over NI'd, if at all. The skin doesnt look plastic, it has some texture, some light/shadow, and the back looks either sweaty or oiled. The details and edges are still sharp as opposed to the NI'd portraits that lose almost all textures, details, and lines in the face.
