Took the shot below tonight. After some PS work I thought it came out pretty good. The background was mostly white to begin with but I used selective color to fix it. I increased the saturation and dodged the flower just slighty. Cropped and sharpened.
Would love your thoughts. Thanks!

I think it's lovely... The color of the flower stands out so well with the white background. Great shot!!! |

Beautiful .. it's more art than botany! :-)
I love the stark contrast between the flower and the background. And the diagonal lines that the flower makes are just perfect. Together with the colors, it all looks more like a painting than a photograph.
And for what it's worth, I even think the border on this photo is very important to hold it all together.

David, thanks so much for your comments. I'm glad you like the border. I was a bit unsure about it. I had tried a few different border styles and colors but this is the only one that seemed to work well.
