Ahhhh! I woke up this morning after a dream with an incredibly inspiring idea.. but I have no models! I'm hoping beyond hope that it'll change before Saturday, but the outlook isn't good.
Anyone else ever know the frustration between having a stellar idea, and being hard pressed to find the means to bring it to fruition? |

When I don't have models (which is all the time) I just use myself for self portraits. That could be a problem if your dream involved princesses and fairy dresses tho, hehe :)

LOL.. well, my idea *does* involve more than one model.. so using myself is out... and, there are other reasons :) |

This is how I feel all the time, Glen! Lots of times, I have such neat ideas but I can't do them because I don't have anyone to use in the shots except myself and my husband most of the time. I have two darling grandsons but they are SO hyper that you can't get them to cooperate for pictures. I have a great idea for Fairy Tales, too, but don't have the model for it.
I don't think my husband will want to dress up like a wicked witch or anything! I had hoped to convince him to shave his legs and be my model for my picture in the Feet Challenge but I had to end up using my own feet because he wouldn't shave his legs and try to look like he had women's feet! |

I have 2 ideas that I REALLY like, but my model isn't wanting to do it and well, I don't have anyone else that can...I'm gonna see if I can squeeze in a shoot with her tomorrow, but she might have work. -_-

YEAH! Did you read my post on another fairytale post? it is very frustrating. I even suggested this challenge and now that we got it, I dont have a freaking model, but I have an awesome idea. I will probably end up not submitting and it really SUCKS!

HEHE
It seems most people have a problem with getting models so it seems everyone is in the same boat! Admittedly i am new to the whole process (too new infact) but i am trying to learn how this all works. Frankly im too young to hire models out let alone pay the 2 dollar rego fee * DAYUM THE GOVERNMENT FOR PUTTING AGE LIMITS ON CREDIT CARDS :P *
Just one question, I was just wondering what are the rough estimates with regards to who is professional (photographs for a living- and hence has connections to models) compared to those that do it out of interest? any estimates ?

I would have to say that most of us here probably aren't trying to *hire* models.. but are simply trying to convince friends/family/acquaintances/bums off the street/local anchorpersons/the president/prime minister/etc. to model for us.. and for free.. and without waiver clauses :)

Me too! I have two different ideas both of which I am very happy with!
And no models!!! And self-modelling isn't so easy.. I can't pass myself off as a 9 year old, no matter how great the lighting is :(( |

Lol, yeah, mine's a friend who has a costume that would work perfectly for this, but she's too busy so it was a no go. I have one idea left and I ideally need a model or a tripod to pull it off, both of which I don't have...
