Can I put my vote in early for a two week voting period on Best of next year - especially if the deadline corresponds to that of a FS? There are WAY too many images out there for voting just now imo . . . I'm trucking along and doing my best, but I just don't have that kind of time.

var random = new Random();
foreach(Photo p in HugePhotoList)
{
AssignScore(p, random.Next(1,11));
}

Voting is a joke if you do the above.

I don't.

Voting best of and free study used to be harder, best of challenges used to have over 500 entries and free studies usually had about 300. You would also see well over 200 votes on each of the challenges. I guess that,s how we learned the art of speed voting.....

Add to that, a slow connection and you reallly got problems. But, I'm doing what I can, voting on best of and commenting as I go.

Yeah, getting a validation request during voting is a little discouraging. But I see it usually as a backhanded compliment, someone thinks you mustève cheated or done some illegal editing to get the image you have! And so long as you did everything within the rules you should be fine. Good luck!

@ Ammie...thanks for the nice comment, greatly appreciated! :-)

I'm sure your image will pass muster just fine. I don't have any idea which image is yours and I don't know anything about anything. That said, it is my understanding that images are not enlisted for validation just because a voter suspects a violation. I think it takes more than one (or maybe more than two) SC members to agree that something is suspect enough about an image to issue a validation request. No offense intended, but I doubt the validation request is a petty inquiry. After the validation process is complete, you are fully entitled to know the cause of the request.

Still a wonderfully low score but a pair of awesome "story" comments. We got a kick out of reading them out loud to the kids. Truly made the challenge for us. Thank you.

Hanging right there in the bottom middle of the pack. Considering I hardly ever do this I guess that isn't too bad. :)

Yes, I think so. You have to ask, but I don't know why the SC member would not tell you. They won't tell you anything ahead of the validation process for obvious reasons, but should be okay after the validation process is complete. (However, I don't know anything about anything.)

Same. Curious to know why my latest was requested for validation. I'll hit them up if they don't spill the beans.

So my slow connection went dead today and wasted a full day! Will try to do more voting and commenting later tonight.
