post 'em.
I was hoping for a bit more originality than the Droste effect. My effort however is not resonating with the audience... perhaps I should've gone Droste!

i've spent really a good time with this challenge, i've not entered any shot, but i saw something really good!

well..at least it's still above my average.
hopefully it increases the same rate that my left foot and my splash of color entries have from their starting to their current scores. (roughly 1 full point in each after the first day of voters had their turn) |

No, I was waiting for someone to bite. How come you're not complaining about BeckyT's average? It's even further from average than mine. Or is it we simply like inflated scores regardless of merit? I'm willing to bet the bank on my assumption. |

Because we all think that the photos on this site are above average. So a 7 is much closer than a 3 in that case. :D

Yeah, well your profile shows that you tend to vote low as a rule. Hopefully you don't think your photos are the only ones that merit better than a 3 or 4 |

| Venser, going back to since when you were cosmicassassin, you really have never come across as someone who enjoys being here. We have enough trolls already, who needs a CDN troll. So why do you stay. What pleasure do you get from doling out low votes. Just curious. |

Oh DANG! I agree with Venser this challenge.
Not a whole bunch of better than average images in this challenge. Many that are less than average.
That said, I'm scoring a firm 5.5 and not happy about it. I think it's worth more than that.

Who says I get pleasure? I feel I'm being honest. I'm just annoyed how in every challenge the minute people get a low vote trolls are on the loose, or it's Monday voters, or an open challenge, or .... Essentially it's any other excuse other than your photo doesn't pass the muster.
I'd hate to see what some members do if their work was criticized by real clients. I've had that happen where they didn't know I was the photographer. You want to talk about humbling, and biting one's tongue, try that.

who cares how he votes as long as its consistent, and not voting up friends or known members with set styles because you think you should vote them up as they ribbon a lot so becomes a self fulfilling prophecy..... :P
he doesnt tactically vote he's just hard to please and at least he analyses the pictures some voters im sure are zombies
hes only 1 voter in the end cant skew the vote that much

People always need to demonize someone or something for their downfall. I just happen to be a, maybe the only, vocal person on this side.
I used to write a critique a day over at 1x. It's hard not to be more critical when all you do is look for flaws in others work. Here, whenever someone asks for feedback either before or after a challenge, I usually volunteer. Most of the time I offer a reasonable response to the image in question and it's shortcomings, at least from my perspective. That's the part of photography I truly enjoy. Analyzing the shit out of things. |
