Well, a couple, few years ago I realized I'd hit literally every other percentile, but I'd never actually gotten a last place to complete the set. So this is PART of my growing up, don'tcha' see? It's a rite of passage. Many photographers (and people) I admire have traveled here before me :-)

Awww, Bear, for me it's been 600 and counting.
In about three hours and some change, I'll find out if I'm in the club.
Or, if it's just another image that (sniff, sniff) "do I smell something?"

You came close with the self-portrait thorn one. Which would have been more fun (for us anyway) as you wouldn't have expected to brown-ribbon with that one.

What about your masterpiece 'the passing lane' ?

I didn't expect the brown with THIS one either, just a low finish. I think it's a good picture :-) Maybe a bit oblique in challenge relevance, but I did see the pipe as exulting, spreading its arms in joy. Penny was there when I shot it; she'll back me up, that's what I said :-)

As for "The Passing Lane", this one from my nemesis GeneralE beat me out: he finished 152nd of 151!

I thought whiterook was your nemesis ... besides, it was really hard to get that shot -- it deserved something ... ;-)

That has to be the ultimate achievement. Where do you go from brown? Black? It deserves to be given a unique honour.

There have been quite a few finishes (not all mine) where the stated finish is lower than the entry number -- I think it's a quirk in the stats which happens when there is a DQ after the voting's done, but where it doesn't affect the top ten finishers.

Nah, it seems like every time I almost snag a brown, YOU are the one that steals it from me :-) Whiterook popped by the other day, BTW; he's acting pretty cheerful :-)

Well done to Bear! It's not as easy as you think to "shoot for the brown" I recently attempted with this shot and ended up with a brown and -2% finish....beat that!
